Event Recap: "Humanity at Work: How to Thrive in the AI Era"

On November 7, 2025, the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Ontario) was pleased to co-host an exclusive Executive Breakfast Roundtable with Adecco Canada.

We extend our sincere thanks to Adecco Canada for generously hosting the event and providing a beautifully curated breakfast buffet. A special thank you to Tanya Cerniuk, Country Head of Adecco Canada, for presenting the timely topic “Humanity at Work: How to Thrive in the AI Era.” She shared key insights from the 2025 Global Future of Work Report, offering attendees practical perspectives and strategies to navigate the rapidly evolving world of work. Her clear and engaging presentation left participants better equipped to understand both the opportunities and challenges presented by AI.

Key findings from the report highlighted a notably optimistic shift in the global workforce. Seventy-six percent of workers now believe AI is creating more jobs, while the proportion of “future-ready” workers increased dramatically from 11% to 37% in just one year. Canada stood out in particular, with 86% of Canadian workers expressing confidence that AI is a job creator.

The discussion was further enriched by remarks from Dr. Philipp Haesler, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland in Canada, and Hervé Lohr, Deputy Head of Economic Relations Americas at the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs. Their perspectives on trade, tariffs, and Swiss-Canadian economic cooperation added valuable depth to the conversation.

We were pleased to welcome several SCCC members to this engaging dialogue, which reinforced that AI is firmly a leadership priority. The discussion emphasized that the real challenge lies not in the technology itself, but in strengthening critical thinking, ethics, and trust to ensure human judgment remains at the center of decision-making.

Our sincere thanks once again to Adecco Canada for their partnership and warm hospitality in facilitating this timely and insightful conversation for our community.
