On September 24, the Geneva Graduate Institute Alumni Association – Toronto Chapter, in collaboration with the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Ontario), with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Canada and sponsorship from UBS, will bring together distinguished leaders from finance, diplomacy, investment, and mining for an exclusive discussion on the role of gold in strengthening economic and strategic relations between Canada and Switzerland.

Moderated by Dr. Shaloma Gauthier, the panel will feature:

• Christoph Arnold – Executive Director & Senior Client Advisor, UBS
• Dr. Philipp Häsler – Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Switzerland in Canada
• Davina Gauthier, CIM – Manager, Investor Communications, Burgundy Asset Management Ltd.
• Ben Lam – Vice President, Treasury, Agnico Eagle Mines Limited

The discussion will explore gold’s role within Canada–Switzerland economic relations and the opportunities ahead for strengthening trade, investment, and strategic partnerships between our two countries.

The Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) is currently seeking one or two engaged and forward-thinking leaders from our business community to join its Board of Directors. We invite expressions of interest from individual members or representatives of corporate members who are eager to help guide the Chamber’s strategic direction and contribute to a vibrant and resilient local economy.

As a member of the Board, you will play an important role in shaping the strategic direction of the Chamber, advocating for business interests, providing input to planning meaningful events and collaborating with the Swiss Government and Partner Chambers for specific events or trade missions. We are seeking candidates with diverse backgrounds and expertise, including areas such as business leadership, finance, governance, marketing, and community engagement.

Board members are expected to contribute their time, insight, and leadership by participating in regular meetings, supporting key initiatives, and acting as ambassadors for the Chamber.
