|Spousal/Partner Event 2011||Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC)||Toronto Islands|
On a exceptionally warm summer night, around 55 members of the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) and the Canadian Swiss Cultural Association (CSCA) and their guests attended an evening at the historic Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC) on Toronto Islands. It was the first joint event with the CSCA, which recently became part of the SCCC. Thanks to longstanding member Sonja Evans, we were granted access to the stunning facilities of the RCYC. The networking reception took place in the historic Patricia Room with a terrace overlooking the Toronto skyline. Former RCYC Commodore Bob Medland gave an overview of the club's history and a tour of the indoor premisies. The outdoor tour had to be cancelled due to dramatic thunderstorms, which started in the midst of the event. Fortunately all the guests could safely travel back by a ferry a few hours later.
