SUISSE news Spring 2019
Social / Events
Spring means growth and new opportunities. In the first quarter of 2019, the SCCC is embracing these principles. We work towards this goal by collaborating with organizations across sectors. We are taking new initiatives for a stronger online presence, updating our brand and social media communication, to support the purposes of the organisation and its members.
This first newsletter of 2019 is a celebration of stories and information sharing. Our new Corporate Member Gremis continues to educate us on technologies with an article dedicated to cryptocurrencies. You will also read about the gender gap in the workforce, with comparisons between Canada and Switzerland. Women still make up less than a quarter of all STEM professionals (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). They command only 6.4 percent of CEO positions at Fortune 500 companies, with a decline of 25 percent in Chief Executive roles in 2018. How can companies help accelerate the talent pool to be increasingly more inclusive and help women hold positions on Boards and in Senior Leadership roles? It is time for a concerted approach that will leave gender parity as a legacy to the next generation.
will take place on April 24 at the King Edward Hotel, with guest speakers Michael Stewart and Samuel Dionne. In his role as Business Development Advisor since July 2018, Michael is in charge of coordinating and implementing the Service Performance Agreement for Export and Invest Promotion with Switzerland Global Enterprise. Samuel is a young entrepreneur who successfully founded Gremis, a communication agency in the Crypto Valley of Switzerland. He helped emerging companies raise over $113 million USD in public and private funding from 2017 to 2018.
We hope to see many of you at our AGM.
