President's Message
Dear SCCC Members,
As the city of Toronto continues to carefully reopen, and more people congregate in public settings, it is critical that we take extra precautions and that we keep each other safe.
At the SCCC, we will continue to operate on a virtual basis until it is safe to meet again, which we hope will be in a not too distant future.
The good news is, social distancing does not mean we cannot share updates and knowledge and we will continue to help you and your businesses. Please do contact us with your news and thoughts so that we can address your needs.
In this edition of Suisse News, we will be covering topics related to the current economic situation in Canada and in Switzerland.
We are also very sad to announce the death of
Freddy Mettler, a Founding Father of the SCCC, who passed away on June 21. Freddy played a major role in the development of our organization and also strongly believed in our Swiss community. He established himself as a network builder and communications visionary, having spent more than 30 years on the Board of our organization. With Freddy’s passing, we loose one of the true pioneers of the SCCC. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
The Covid-19 crisis is bringing everyone a great deal of challenges and need for adaptation. In the current situation, we do remain available to all our partners, operating seamlessly until such time that it is safe to go back to our normal working habits. Please stay safe,
Wishing everyone a happy Swiss National Day, despite not being able to celebrate at our many Swiss Day celebrations in Ontario. However, you may wish to check out these
online celebrations starting as of July 27.
