We are sad to announce the passing of our long standing member of the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce
Norman Diamond Griesdorf
1933 - 2020
Norman passed away on November 30, 2020, just following his 87th birthday. He was born in Vancouver in 1933. With his parents, David and Ruth Griesdorf, he lived in a number of different cities: Vancouver, Winnipeg, New York, and Los Angeles before moving with them to Toronto in 1945.
Influenced by his father, David, who was in the entertainment business as General Manager of Odeon Theatres, Norman, after graduating as a lawyer in 1959, almost immediately began practising entertainment law. He had a wide group of clients and was also active in many different business endeavours and charities. He particularly loved his work at Variety Village where he was "Chief Barker" for many years.
Norman leaves behind his wife, Jeniva, of over 60 years of marriage; his daughter, Diana, and son-in law,Steve Solski; his son, Danny, and his late son Robin. He will be sorely missed by his brother, Gary, sister- in-law, Jane, and niece, Wendy Griesdorf; his grandchildren, Linden and Sivrene, and his beloved great grandson, Aleric.
Norman will be remembered with deep gratitude by the SCCC. He served as a president, treasurer and board member during the span of 40 years. We are forever thankful for this dedication and commitment to our organization. Rest in peace, Norm.
