SCCC Event Highlights of 2021

2021 started with a pandemic lockdown, but it ended on a high note; after a 20 month hiatus, the SCCC was excited to host a number of in-person events again.
Cocktail Reception on the Patio at Moxie's
October 5th, 2021
SCCC members and guests met on the patio at Moxie’s downtown for a cocktail reception. The "welcome back" event was limited to 25 participants (due to government restrictions) but it was nonetheless a big joyous occasion. Everyone was happy to socialize and network again in person, after a prolonged period of online events and Zoom meetings only.
Läderach sweetened the evening by gifting chocolates to each participant and sponsoring the main prize for the raffle. Thank you to Jorge Chon from Läderach Canada for this generous donation!
Miriam Cahn Exhibition at the PowerPlant Contemporary Art Gallery

A small group of members of the SCCC, Swiss Club, and some guests and art lovers, gathered at the PowerPlant Contemporary Art Gallery for the solo exhibition of Miriam Cahn, a renowned Swiss painter. It was an interesting tour that provided some insight into Miriam Cahn's thought provoking and controversial art.
Raclette Night at Her Father's Cider Bar + Kitchen
December 12th, 2021Over 30 members and guests gathered at Her Father's Cider for our Raclette Night. The evening started on the heated patio over mulled cider, an appetizer with Swiss cured meats, followed by the main course with Raclette cheese and potatoes. Dessert consisted of delicious chocolate pralines by Läderach. A door prize was raffled off, and the lucky winner received a gift card from Swissmade Direct.
