Dear SCCC Members and Friends of the SCCC,
Each year, I plan to free up time to enjoy the season of “Advent” with the many social festivities that the year-end brings. However, it usually ends up being such a busy time with work, kids activities, finding gifts, baking and of course organizing a special SCCC Year End celebration.
While it is a magical time, it also brings me to reflect on a year near completion and the achievements throughout. With just over 20 events organized by the SCCC and our partner chambers, and greater numbers of our valued members attending since the pandemic, it has been an active year full of ‘in person’ networking opportunities that we all seem to appreciate more since Covid.
Interesting event topics ranged from crypto to AI, technology and innovation. We also created an expanded networking platform by hosting bi-monthly events together with 5 other European chambers, which drew well over 100 attendees per event, with an interesting mix of participants from a wide range of industries. In September, we brought a unique innovation from the Valais region of Switzerland to Toronto - Roboclette, a robot that makes and serves raclette. Tradition meets innovation. In November, we co-hosted a seminar with Towbridge and the British Chamber about cross border taxation and the importance of a will which holds up in international laws. And next week, our Year End Celebration will take place on December 20th at 1 Hotel, an exclusive newer hotel chain, with a strong focus on sustainability. If you don’t yet have your ticket, this is your last chance to enjoy an exquisitely crafted 3 course dinner by Chef Manish Kesar, then grove on the dance floor to your favourite tunes, and win big in the grand raffle including 2 Swiss International Air Lines tickets.
The current newsletter provides some insights on flights to Switzerland, including the newly announced direct flight Toronto - Zurich by Swiss International Air Lines, plus UBS’ outlook for 2024, AI developments in Canada and abroad. Also look for our valued member Brett Berman’s article on Wealth, one of the fundamental components for well being and stability after health, plus much more... Happy Reading.
With this, I wish to thank you for making the SCCC a lively and active networking organization by participating at events throughout the year. Hope to see many of you next Wednesday, December 20th for our Year End celebration. If you don’t yet have your ticket, there is one last chance to register until Monday December 18th. See the next article.
Wishing you and yours a happy, merry and bright Holiday Season and a fantastic 2024.
Best wishes,
Sandra
