After 20 years of dedicated service, we extend our deepest thanks to Patricia Keller Schläpfer, who has been an essential part of the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce here in Toronto. Her passion for fostering Swiss-Canadian connections, her unwavering support, and her genuine care for members and partners as well as the board of directors have helped shape the Chamber into what it is today. Whether assisting individuals or strengthening corporate ties, Patricia brought warmth and professionalism to everything she did.

While we’re sad to see her go, we’re also excited for what’s ahead for her new career with Porters Airlines as well as for the SCCC.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Auli Rasanen and Maggie Jameel, who are joining the Chamber team! Both bring fresh ideas and great enthusiasm, with a strong focus on event planning and business development. Auli and Maggie are committed to continuing Patricia’s legacy while helping us grow and evolve with the times.

Auli is a Finnish Canadian experienced and skilled International Business professional bringing forth valuable and diverse experience both in B2B & B2C-field and working with a Board of Directors. She has a passion for international business and trade. Her international work experience comes from Canada, England, Germany and Nordic Countries from positions that has required collaboration with stakeholders at all levels of an organization across borders including authorities, auditors, customers, volunteers and suppliers. She has served on boards of Finnish Language School both in Munich and Toronto as well as Canadian Friends of Finland Education Foundation in Toronto, and is currently a Member of the Finnish Canadian Board of Directors.

Auli is a strategic thinker who has a strong desire not only to learn new skills but also to learn about different businesses, cultures and industries. She believes in teamwork: a group of people who share their skills and strengths, and work together, can achieve bigger goals than anyone could on their own. 

Auli is also a small business owner, who holds Batchelor Degrees in Pharmacy and International Business as well as MBA. She speaks 3 languages: Finnish, English and German, and is currently studying French. 

When not working, Auli enjoys doing sport both indoor (going to gym) and outdoor (hiking, cycling, skiing), spending time with her family and friends, and exploring the world.

Maggie is a multilingual Swiss citizen living in Canada, working as the Business Development & Event Manager at the Swiss-Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Ontario). With a strong background in biotechnology, lab management, research, and project coordination, she brings precision, clear communication, and a thoughtful, methodical approach to connecting people and building partnerships. She is currently completing her Bachelor's degree in Science, specializing in Molecular Biology and Genetics. She speaks English, German, Armenian, and Arabic fluently, and her diverse roots, anchored in her Swiss identity, inspire her commitment to delivering real results and meaningful connections.

Outside of work, Maggie loves hiking, cooking, discovering new cafés, and spending valuable time with family and friends. She loves reading new scientific journal articles, and she enjoys exploring different music genres and often picks up an instrument herself. You’ll often find Coldplay, David Garrett, Lo & Leduc, or Charles Aznavour on her playlist, and she likes rewatching Grey’s Anatomy and Succession.
