Raclette Evening at the King Edward Hotel
On November 18th, the SCCC held its very first Raclette dinner at the King Eddy in Toronto. The hotel being the traditional venue for the Annual Gala Dinner Dance was also the ideal place to host a Raclette meal thanks to its Swiss Executive Chef, Daniel Schick. He was assisted by Chef Herzig from HUH Imports. Together they produced an outstanding meal, thoroughly Swiss from beginning to end.
The event was in such high demand that there was a wait list, as the Victoria restaurant could only accommodate 75 guests. The crowd was a mix of SCCC members, non-members and corporate tables. The SCCC was happy to welcome the new head of Switzerland Tourism, Pascal Prinz, in Toronto. Thanks to numerous sponsors, there was a raffle prize draw and many lucky winners. The SCCC would like to thank the following companies for their generous donations: Consulate General of Switzerand, DeLonghi, Euromart, HUH Imports, King Edward Hotel, Lindt, Lugano Fine Foods, Marché Restaurants, Swissmar and Switzerland Tourism.

Swiss Business Luncheon at the AGO
On October 18, Switzerland Global Enterprise, the Swiss Business Hub and the SCCC have worked together to organize an excusive luncheon for our Members, at the prestigious AGO.
It was an honor to welcome our special guest Mrs. Ruth Metzler-Arnold, President of the Supervisory Board of Switzerland Global Enterprise.
We also had the pleasure of the presence of Mrs. Anja Zobrist, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Switzerland in Ottawa, Mrs. Elisabeth Bösch Malinen, Consul General of Switzerland in Montreal, Mr. Markus Reubi, Director of the Swiss Business Hub and Mr. Beat Guldimann, Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Toronto.
Mrs. Ruth Metzler Arnold and Mr. Beat Guldimann shared their expertise and personal experience on the recent economic developments between Switzerland and Canada. We had a look at some of the promising new approaches and emerging strategies for addressing Swiss export and invest promotions.
The Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce provides its support and services to Switzerland Global Enterprise under a framework agreement signed in 2015. Going forward, I can see one of the SCCC primary focuses will be to explore ways to strengthen the support to S-GE and Swiss companies in the area of market and development initiatives in Canada.

Swiss Night on July 15 on the Patio at the Marché Mövenpick
Over 60 guests gathered on the indoor patio of the Marché restaurant on the rainy July evening. The event had to be moved inside due to bad weather, which did not deter guests from attending. Besides networking, mingling and great food, a door prize was raffled off, sponsored by our long-standing member
Victorinox.
